Restaurant Renovation & Project Management
An existing restaurant with an unused alfresco area needed a complete refurbishment to promote the client’s idea for a new venue based on craft brews from around the globe. Although the infrastructure existed, there was an extremely tight timeframe and an even tighter budget to relaunch this restaurant. To utilise the alfresco area and meet strict acoustic conditions set by the council, a new roof was created and the existing surrounding limestone wall was soundproofed.
There were also many locals who were sad to see the existing restaurant had closed and were sentimental about losing the quirky artwork that dotted the walls. So rather than losing this, I invited the artist back to add more of the Freo style to the space and built from here. This not only pleased the original locals but attracted in a new group of regulars.
